Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
—1 Peter 3:3-4 (King James Version)
Dearest Abba, Father, You are my treasure and wholesome joy. Nothing satisfies me more than the sense of Your assuring presence in my life. I believe that You want and delight to see me beautiful, both inside and outside. I understand this full well that You want me to spend at least the same amount of time beautifying my spirit as I spend looking nice in my outward appearance. Forgive me, Abba, for those days when I have found time to dress smartly and look outwardly attractive, but I didn’t take the time to pray or read my Bible. Help me get my priorities in order as I make the development of my spirit a higher priority than fixing my hair or putting on makeup. Let Your face shine upon me. Let Your beauty be upon me. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen
