Stephen saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

Acts 7:55 (New International Version)

My Gracious Lord, Jesus, How compassionate and full of love You are. You died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day and ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Lord God. But when I am going through troubles and persecutions, You can’t sit still. When I cry out to You, You always stand up to stretch Your hand to comfort me and draw me close to Your bosom. You really don’t like to see Your children suffer. But sometimes You allow troubles to come upon me so as to bring about greater good, to refine me or to reveal a new aspect of Yours to me. One thing I know for a fact that through it all You are perfectly in control and You love me immensely. My love, Jesus, I adore You more than anything in this world. My heart leaps for joy at the very thought of You. You satisfy my soul. Overpower me with Your Spirit and let me celebrate Your authority over me and Your majesty all the days of my life. You know what, Jesus, I thank you for Your gift of Your living Word to us—especially for the Gospel of John. Today I have fallen in love with You all over again reading it. Amen.
