Life is a journey with lot of twists & turns ! In that journey have you came across with a dead end ?
One day Elisha meets a poor woman with same situation – ” NOTHING “ – no husband, no income, no food, no prospects ( even the extreme danger of losing her sons to slavery because of unpaid debts ) like the widow of Zarephath met Prophet Elijah, who thought she was preparing her last meal.
Elisha told the woman & her sons to collect jars from their neighbors and pour the olive oil into them from the pot of oil which they had in their house ( their only asset which they have not even thought off during their crises ) . They were told to sell the multiplied oil and pay their debts.
May be both of her sons was employed to bring the empty jars ( ofcource this are the properties of neighbours ) and she carefully fill and set aside, those were full. The number of jars they gathered was an indication of their faith & action of convincing the neighbours to lend the same for some period . They gets as much as oil as per the quantity of empty jars they brought in .The oil stopped flowing only when they ran out of jars.
Yes ! There is something secret about ” NOTHING ” that moves God’s hand. He loves leading us to empty places where we can learn on nothing except His provision. God’s provision was as large as their faith and willingness to obey. Beware of limiting God’s blessings by a lack of faith and obedience. But a simple act of faith produced a miracle. Faith is the step between promise and action .
Miracles seems out of reach for our feeble faith. But every miracle, large or small, begins with an act of obedience.
Our God is able to do it for you today ( whether it is financial, spiritual or physical provisions ) onceagain like in the biblical days , ” immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine ” .
