Proverbs 3:7 Do not be wise in your own eyes.
I want to dig something from “Mathew 2”. We all know this passage. But I want you to think this chapter with Proverbs 3:7.
You might be very wise and could foresight things ahead through insight. But be careful that you are not unseeing the light given to you by the Holy Spirit. In “Mathew 2” we can see the three wise men came to give homage to Jesus. Do you ever think about the cost of that homage they given. May not! I say cost is not meant for the gold, frankincense, and myrrh. But they sacrificed 1000’s of children’s life. And just after the birth of Jesus, Joseph and Mary had to flee from Bethlehem to Egypt.
The rising star of Jesus evoked them to go and see his birth and they were very well known that a star will lead them. But after seeing the star they forgot everything and given up to their own vision. “A king must take birth in palace”. Even if they had the star they ignored it because of their blindness of cleverness. They are wise!
One simple mistake took the life of 1000’s of children and put several people into trouble.
When they came to know that nobody has the idea of the infant. They again raised their eyes to the heaven. They are again guided by the star and the star took them to the infant.
You are blessed with the light, the vision, the star. But sometimes disregard the truth and spare your own visions in situations.
Do you know how much you are paying for that? Countless and nobody can repay the debt. It’s sad!
The almighty may help you to understand, identify and taste the star, the light given to you and to lead a life in his vision.
