I want to surf through two important points: Mathew 15:21
1. Faith to receive what we deserve
2. Our attitude towards one receive which they deserve
Mathew 15:21 displays two main characters, a Canaanite woman and the disciples.
1. The Canaanite woman shows her attitude towards what she deserved from God. She has the faith to accept what she deserved from God. Bible says she was shouting for what she deserved. Here I want you to refresh your faith on what you deserved. Most of the cases we do not rely on His promises and just adore the laziest words in our mouth, “Oh I am not the one, I do not deserve it”. Your father in heaven is waiting for you to see the value or the greatness of your faith. He wants to test you to see how deep your faith is. Here the Canaanite woman was disregarded for sometime… but Jesus wasn’t neglecting her. The disciples tried to get her away and they find difficult and requesting Jesus to send her away. She was holding unto her faith towards Jesus. While she requested for mercy “Jesus said it’s not fair to take the children’s food and throw it to the dogs”. Why Jesus said this? Because Jesus was belonged to Jewish, and for the Jews the Canaanites were out of their cast. To proclaim Jesus was not only come to save Jews but also for all, no matter who belongs to which cast or denomination, only faith matters. Her answer was “Yes Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table”. She is showing the depth of her faith. Great is your faith, let it be done for you as you wish. Instantly her daughter was healed from the demonic torment.
2. The second character, the disciples shows our attitude towards our friends and relatives and co-workers while they are going to deserve what they deserved. What was the disciple’s attitude towards the woman? They were with Jesus for the past days; they know very well that there is nothing impossible with Him. And they even have the right to request Jesus for his mercy towards the woman. But they were not even wanted to listen and her cry for what she deserved went to their ears as a disturbance for their happy life. They were trying to send her away. Sometimes we are like that, Oh! He is going to get that blessing. We will start working our brain to take away the blessing out of him. Same way the disciples instead of a request to here her grieve, urged and said Jesus to send her away. Isn’t that wrong? Yes this attitude towards our brothers and sisters is wrong. We know that he/she deserves it. Pray for them to achieve the deserved blessings, instead of kicking out the deserved blessings from them.
God our Lord is asking now only for your FAITH doesn’t matter who you are.
Do you believe that I can do it? You deserve it and it will be given to you, you faith heart.
