There were 5000 men, plus woman and children – probably 10000 to 16000 hungry people, who needed to eat. These people were too hungry and weak to walk to the city and eat.
The impossibility thinker’s view was amply represented by Philip. His view of the situation was typical of this world’s impossibility thinkers. His natural mind couldn’t see beyond obstacles. All he could see was the huge crowd and magnitude of their need. Impossibility thinking says “Eight month’s wages of bread is not enough, send them away! There is not enough! “This is the sum total of the mind of this kind of people.
Andrew demonstrates the possibility thinker. He responded like Mary, the mother of Jesus, at the wedding feast, when she says “whatever He says, do it.” Andrew saw possibility in a few fish and loaves in the hands of Jesus; he focused on what they had instead of what they lacked. He felt that, in the hands of Jesus the same can multiply into 100 folds and feed all these hungry people easily.
Let the lord speak to you today and give you the faith of that little boy & Andrew to see the miracle and bring glory to His name.
