OVERCOMING THE SPIRIT OF FEAR AND THE VOICE OF AUTHORITY
The wicked shall see it, and grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
Psalms 112:1-10
Notice is says in verses 6 and 8 that the righteous person shall not be moved. He is established – fixed – because his heart trusts soundly in the Lord. This is picture of the person who sees the word of God as his final authority.
You cannot become established in doctrine unless you respect God’s Word as the ultimate voice of authority in your life. But when you’re established, or fixed, bad news does not affect you like it used to. And since it doesn’t have any effect on you, it can’t cause fear in your life. And since bad news can’t cause fear in you, Satan can’t use that bad news against you.
The spirit of fear is one of the greatest hindrances to the Body of Christ’s walking in their God-given rights. The enemy will either try to make a person fear that he’s going under and won’t make it financially, or he’ll try to convince a person that money is evil and that having money will draw him or her away from God. But when that person knows the truth and is established on sound doctrine, the devil’s lies will be of no effect in the person’s life.
